Complementary Colors

Most pictures today are seen with contrasting colors that help bring out the subjects in picture. These contrasting colors are called complementary colors. Complementary colors are any two colors which are directly opposite each other, such as red and green and red-purple and yellow-green. For example there are several variations of yellow-green and several variations of red-purple. These opposing colors create maximum contrast and maximum stability. This is used to make more vibrant colors that are more appealing for an audience. Most colored pictures are seen with using this contrast and are considered more appealing than their old black and white counterpart.
